A Dentist Near Burlington That Accepts New Patients

Posted on: August 23rd, 2023 | Categories: Local Dentist

It seems like every dentist in Burlington or in nearby towns is booked for months. This makes it difficult for patients who need more immediate dental care to find a dentist near them. This issue is compounded by the fact that some dentists who may have availability may not be in network with a patient’s insurance. Luckily Colchester Dental Group has been able to attract talented new dentists to its dental office near Burlington, allowing us to seen new patients with minimal wait.

If you are having a hard time finding a dentist near you that accepts your insurance that is currently taking new patients, here are some tips to beat the system:

Ask if the dentist has a cancelation list

A busy dental practice can have multiple patients cancelling day, meaning that sooner appointments can be available in these cancelled slots. The key to getting these slots is to communicate clearly to the patient coordinator answering your call that you would like to at least become a patient of record with the office so that they will call you if a sooner appointment does become available. These cancellations are often on a first-come-first serve basis so if you’re really motivated to get a sooner appointment luck will be on your side.

See a dentist that’s out of network

Call your dental insurance company and see if they provide you with any benefits if you see a dentist that is outside their network. Many insurances are perfectly fine with you seeing a dentist that’s not in their network and will pay for treatment at least partially. Different insurances have different rules of how they pay for treatments with dentists that are out-of-network but it is often a large percentage of the treatment cost. If you really need to see a dentist sooner rather than later, this option could be a viable option for you.
The bonus with this option is that you may get better treatment than you would have if you stuck with an in-network dentist since the in-network dentists need to make the treatment profitable for them while accepting the low rate that the insurance company pays. Dentists that are not in network with that insurance are not limited to keeping the costs down and can ensure you get the best treatment.

See a dentist that’s further away

If your insurance does not pay out-of-network benefits or if you don’t want to pay any fees for seeing an out-of-network dentist then you will have to search for dentists further away. You can still find a dentist near you that accepts your insurance for less urgent dental needs and just make the drive specifically for the treatment you currently need. You don’t need to stay with the dentist that’s further away once you complete treatment, though often patients will drive far distances for dentists they really love, like the dentists at Colchester Dental Group.

If you are looking for a dentist near Burlington, we urge you to call our dental office in Colchester and see how we can help. For the time being we are not booking too far out, but we are booking up fast so it’s best to call our dental office sooner rather than later.
